Do you ever...
dial your loved ones phone number even though you know they won't answer?
I did that today, at first I talked myself out off it (using rational thoughts) then I just did it. It definitely struck me.

Re: Do you ever...
I used to call my brother's cell phone #. My SIL had the line turned off so I had no choice & had to stop calling. It broke my heart the day I deleted him from my phone.

Re: Do you ever...
yes, to listen to the message.
When I got my new cell phone last month, I switched providers so I manually typed in all of my contacts. I was debating whether to put my moms number in... I didn't put it.

Re: Do you ever...
you may think I'm nuts but when my mother died, I kept paying for her cell phone for a year just so that I could dial it and hear her voice on the vm recording.
I didn't do it every day....just once in a while. Maybe 10 times in the whole year. On my birthday and all of the first holidays, etc. After a year I realized that she would have yelled at me and thought I was nuts for paying the bill for an entire year without using it. ha.

Re: Do you ever...
Yes, my step father passed away in June of 2005 and my mom can't get rid of his number. She stills calls it as do I and my step brother. I called when I got married, was pg, moved to my house, gave birth, and on father's day's. I never leave a message, but it's nice to hear his voice.

Re: Do you ever...
I have my nephew's number in my phone and cannot delete it. Just a comfort to me to have it there. I had it disconnected for my sister about a week after he passed. We wish we could get into his FB but no one knows his password.

Re: Do you ever...
It's been a long time, but 14 years ago my cousin was killed, I called her phone for awhile just to hear her voice on the machine. It took awhile for my Aunt to disconnect the phone, I don't think she wanted to let it go either.

Re: Do you ever...
i know alot of people who do this. its just a comfort to be able to hear their voice, even if its only for 5 seconds to reconnect with them in some way.
