Genetic Brain Tumors
I know all situations are different. I found out a girl in DS's class (3 y/o) has one. I'm so sad today.
I'm going with the approach that her parents had it and lived long enough to have her so she'll be okay...
Guess I'm looking for hope.

Re: Genetic Brain Tumors
Wow, 3 years old? That's so young to have to deal with such a terrible thing
In my personal experience, I've known two people who had brain tumors, and there was no family history. There's a lot that the medical field is still learning about cancer, so there I suppose there could possibly be some sort of genetic predisposition, but I imagine her parents probably don't also have brain tumors.

Re: Genetic Brain Tumors
Apparently, she did go thru chemo/radiation. I spoke to the director at school and she said less the 70% survival rate....

Re: Genetic Brain Tumors
I'm confused by the question - are you saying that her parents (or one of her parents) had a brain tumor?
Unfortunately I do know several people who did have brain tumors, none of which was genetic.
I hope she'll be ok. I do know several children that did beat the odds & survived cancer.
