If you exercise everyday/almost everyday...
What do you do to keep your energy up?
Sleep? Food? Supplements?
Somdays - especially those 4am days, are rough.
But overall, I get days where I just can't get through the day - can't get out of bed, want to fall asleep in the car, etc...
I DO take days off - especially on those low energy days, but is there something else you guys do? I feel now that I'm in my late 30's (wow - I never referred to myself in that way - hold on... I need a moment to recover ) I just don't have the energy I had waaaay back when I was in my 20's.
So, what's your secret... or, are you all exhausted, like me?

I always get at least 8 hours of sleep and I find following a healthy diet also gives me energy. I try and go to bed at a reasonable hour.
And on those days where my energy is less than stellar- COFFEE!!

Sleep and coffee and a healthy diet maintains my energy levels - by the end of the day I still have extra enegy to burn off which is why I workout at night... and my thyroid medicine makes a huge difference!

Lots of raw vegetables and also protein at every meal - they'll give you natural energy. Try to stay away from too much caffiene so your body doesn't become dependent.

I guess I'm doing everything right then. I think no matter how healthy I eat, how much sleep I get, how much (or little) coffee I drink, there is no getting around the fact I work too many hours and then have a little kid.

I work out M-F and I just pray that I can do it! If you knew me you'd know I am so not religious.....I rely on coffee mostly.

I work so much and I also have a little kid. It's really hard to motivate myself. I had to work this morning. Now I'm home and I know I should work out, but I just don't feel like it. I'm exhausted. I totally know where you're coming from,

I totally know where you're coming from, My number one rule is I NEVER relax before working out - I come home from work, and go directly to the gym or dress immediately for my run. Once my a s s hits the couch, I'm toast!

Re: If you exercise everyday/almost everyday...
Im 38 & its harder for me to muster up the energy to work out..my brain is ready but my body is like "later" or "tomorrow". Once I start though I can finish. If I eat a balanced diet and get some good shut-eye I can go all day.
I also feel my age when I recover form a run or hard work out.

I know. I'm just spent when I hit the couch. I need to start bringing my gym bag to work and changing there then heading directly to the gym or out for a run.

Re: If you exercise everyday/almost everyday...
I sleep a decent amount each night, at least 7-8 hours. I don't drink coffee but I eat healthy. I usually have more than just 3 meals to keep my energy up. I have a lot of snacks during the day and eat smaller meals. (I usually eat at 7am, 11am, 2pm, 5:30pm, and 8 or 9pm)
I usually work out in the evenings (that is, if I get out of work at a decent time) and go straight from the office--I have a Zone Classic power bar right before my work out.
I'm not great with my vitamins but take them when I can.
