Do you think it is possible?

In 2002, I was 18 years old and starting college.

I was at my lowest weight, 100 pounds. It was perfect, but of course, I didn't think about it then.

Having to move home after college, I got depressed and wasn't as active and became my heaviest- overweight at 135 pounds.

I realized this and started counting calories, and exercising but very little compared to now. In less than 4 months, I had lost 18 pounds. I was down to about 117. A few months after that I was down to 112.

I am now 27. I got married and pigged out on the honeymoon. I weighed 127 pounds. I have now started eating healthy again and exercising as intensely as I can every single day. It has only been two months, but I have only maintained a loss of 4 pounds (about 123).

Do you think that it is possible that I could ever get back to 100 pounds, even though it is almost 10 years later, and I have an extra 23 pounds to shed? I just feel like these 23 pounds will never go anywhere. I will be happy to go back to 110, and try to maintain there but even that seems not feasible.

I think it could be very possible (of course I dont know too much about you or your body) but with the right amount of diet and excercise you could get back to your goal weight.

When I first joined Weight Watchers I just wanted to be as skinny as I was when I was in high school. Not only do I weigh LESS than that now, but I'm in much better shape. I look at pics and can see a big difference. That was 7 years ago.

I've heard as you get older its harder to lose weight, but I do think it is still very possible.

Also, you want to make sure you're still within ahealthy range for your height. Otherwise your body might fight you to put the weight back on.

I think it is important to ask if a weight of 100 lbs. is in a healthy range for you. If the answer to the question is YES it is within a healthy weight range then it is totally possible. You have been losing about 0.5 lbs per week which is a decent loss. I think missfabulous point of being in good shape is also something to consider. I would continue to keep track of your diet and maybe try varing your daily intake a little to see if you can increase your weight loss.

I am assuming that you are short - about 5'? So my thoughts are with that in mind.

Yes, I think it's possible - though shooting for a slightly higher weight might be a better idea. I say this only because you haven't weighed 100 lbs since age 18. You were a teenager then, your metabolism was naturally high, and you're 10 years older now. Of course you want to look your best, but a better, more comfortable weight for you to maintain as a healthy, active adult might be a little higher than what it was when you were starting college.

Have you considered going to a personal trainer/nutritionist? A professional may have some ideas for you, and insight into what you can change about what you're already doing, in order to get to an ideal weight for you at this point in your life.

it depends. you said you started working out intensely as a result of weight gain and you've lost 4 lbs. but, working out hardcore creates muscle, which is amazing, but also weighs more than fat. so even though the number on the scale isn't moving as fast as you like it to, you could be losing inches as opposed to pounds simply because this new workout routine is helping you gain muscule. if that's the case, it might be harder to get to 100 because you're more muscular *not even bulky muscle, just regular muscles that develop from exercise*

if you're losing inches, then try to incorporate more lean muscle workouts like pilates or speed walking.

when i began working out with a trainer i gained weight immediately because even though i wasn't bulking up or anything, i was still getting toned muscle and i gained before i lost.
