spinoff to losing nails when running
some people said that they get black naiils from running. my questions is, are the black nails completely black or are they black dots beneath the nail?
i ask because one of my big toes has a black dot under it. the doctor said it's a bruise... i was wondering if it's from running because i dont remember stubbing my toe or dropping anything on it. but i don't (can't) run half marathons or far distances... yet!

It can e either...Mine are mostly black/bluish underneath the nail. If you get it early enough, the podiatrist can drill through and drain it. I typically end up not having time to get in and get it done, so I just leave mine and let them take its course. They can take awhile to go away. This past year I had one that just would not fall off, so my dr ended up taking care of it. I'm just guessing I'll have my next one soon as my runs are getting longer.
