That questions used to bring a blank stare out into space for DS. He had no idea what I was asking. Nor cared to tune in to my voice to find out what the object was.

It's changing!!

The labels are flying out of this kid. And if he dosen't know, he looks right at me and waits for the label - and remembers it.

MONTHS I have waited for this.

ANd might I note that ABA has been 'working' on this from the beginning and getting nowhere because they don't throw him the big YIPPEE party when he gets one right. This started on the floor, with me and his Daddy. I'm over the moon.

Thats great! Are you asking him to "find (ex car)" and then he is pointing to the picture?

Sounds like you need new ABA people

AWESOME NEWS!!!!

I agree though that you need new ABA people. My one teacher is so genuinely excited when DS does something that she can't contain her excitement. I can tell how good a session is going by the amount of times she hoots and hollers. LOL

Yes, we are switching providers. Our therapist is pretty dry. Zach has a nice relationship with her but she dosen't get all crazy when he does something right and that is his reinforcer. Positive praise, big party, screaming. He eats it up.

** ETA - Liza kindly pointed out that this was an EXPRESSIVE language milestone, not receptive. Just corrected the title so nobody is confused.
