What do you think?
Nov 2009, I was laid off from being an I.T. Asst. ...I was 6 months preggo. Since I know that no one was going to hire me with my huge belly...I put it off till after DS was born.
I filled out HUNDREDS of applications... had sooo many interviews. One of which, called me back for the 2nd AND 3rd interview. I met with the manager for what shift I'd be working for, and they all loved me. It was a hike to go to all those interviews... and to find a babysitter...but I thought, hey, I'll be working next week!!
Two week after, they send me an email saying I am not what they are looking for. I call them to find out why. They say my credit was in too bad of a condition, yadda yadda. Ok, I told them fro the first interview on the phone that I was on unemployment, and doing real bad with my bills...thus the bad credit....and also why I needed this job.
Now, almost 6 months later, they sent me anotehr email that they would like to interview e again... should I even bother??? My credit is exactly the same as it was then. I don't want to find all these babysitters again for the sae company that sorta lead me on to begin with. What do you think...?
The hours would work out perfectly... it's just a hike ... so with gas prices I don't know. But at least it's something! WWYD?

Re: What do you think?
Can you talk to someone in advance and explain what happened before, then see if they think it's still worthwhile to come in?
Let them know that you are still highly interested, but this is what you were told last time when you didn't get the position.
I agree that you don't want to waste your time if it's gonna be the same thing.

Re: What do you think?
When you say an IT assist, do you mean an assistant for the IT department or do you know IT work?
I know this doesn't answer your questions but are you solely looking for LI? Are you looking for f/t?
I have the inside scoop that two companies are going to go through a hiring wave in the next few months - one HR friend told me they are specifically looking for IT.
And to answer your questions, I'd probably want to speak to HR to ask if a credit check is required for the new position before taking up the manager's time (aka wasting your time). Certain departments can require different requirements. In my (software) company, corporate staff do not have to pass a background check & field staff are required to pass depending on our specific client needs (ie if it's a bank, they want a credit check).

Re: What do you think?
Thanks!! I will be giving them the call today :)
As for my last job...yes I was working in the I.T. Dept...I was the main guys asst. I have no schooling...only hands on with that system. I was in that position for 2 years. I am also not certified... I was in the process when I got laid off. So, I don't think any real I.T. position will be interested in me LOL. I've tried ha. So, I went backwards some to Customer Service...which I don't mind doing... but the pay is obviously WAY less. Then the commute.... But the way I look at it now..it IS in fact a JOB! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

My DH is in IT and lost his job. I would be interested to know!
