Nook Wifi or Kindle WiFi- need opinions quick
I want to buy one for my mom for Mother's Day...I need to order it online but I have to do it ASAP....
Which one....WHY?
ETA: So I went with the Kindle for her and DH got me one too for mothers day!!

I prefer the Nook. More places to buy ebooks from and it already has the functionality to borrow ebooks from the library. Plus if she has questions she can walk into a BN store and someone can walk her through everything.
Library lending is coming for the Kindle too, so I'm sure either way she'll be happy.

I researched foreverrrr before I bought mine and in the end I just really liked the layout and feel of the Kindle much better.

Ditto - not a fan of the Nook's feel. Library lending, as a PP mentioned, is due later in the year for the Kindle so she won't be able to use that feature immediately but it is coming via Overdrive, which is the main eBook aggregator for public libraries.

I researched for a long time, and went with a Nook. Even when Kindle does borrowing, as far as I could tell, it won't do EPUB formatted books. Most libraries will be able to get the Overdrive format books, but there are lots of other sites that may not.
I also didn't like the keyboard taking up so much real estate, when it's supposed to be primarily for reading. Lots of wasted space and weight, as opposed to the color touch-screen on the Nook.
I think your mom will be happy whichever way you go.

I looked into both and went with the Nook Color... LOVE IT!
Love the touch screen, love that the entire screen is for reading, love that I can put my music and pics on it too and go online, and now it has apps too! I just put angry birds, solitaire, balloon popper on there, lol.
No regrets, love it. And love that you can lend out books to friends and get books from the library (although I haven't actually used the library feature yet).
I have 109 books I believe and the majority were free books. I think I've paid for less than 10 of them. NOT BAD!
