How do I get them on the same schedule???

My twin girls are 8 weeks old now and they are on opposite schedules. Leah will drink a bottle every 4 hours....Maya every 3 hours. I know eventually Maya will be able to drink more and go for a longer stretch. But they also sleep at completely different times. Leah is awake all morning and into the afternoon and Maya sleeps. I swear as soon as Leah closes her eyes in the mid afternoon Maya's pops open and she is up the rest of the day. It is rare that they sleep at the same time. I like that Im getting good one on one time with each of them....but it would be really nice it I could get something done while both sleep.
When were you able to get your twins on a schedule and how did you go about doing it?????
THANKS!!!!!

Re: How do I get them on the same schedule???

My girls are only 4 weeks. But for the most part they are on similar schedules. I feel like the root of it is feedings. I EBF (which I think for the girls is a way to soothe themselves) so whenever one is ready for a nursing session I try to do the other at the same time or shortly thereafter.

Katelyn typically takes an hour snooze in the morning but is up before bed where as Juliana is up that hour in the morning and will sleep that extra hour at night. Hopefully this isn't the beginning of the end of them being on the same routine Chat Icon

sunflowerjesss is correct when she says it is about the feedings. You need to feed them at the same time. If you’re doing it by yourself you can feed one first and then the other. Gradually get them feeding at the same time. Even if one only wants a few ounces at a feedings until they are both eating together.
Good Luck!

i didn't give my kids a choice Chat Icon

if one eats at 3hrs and one at 4 i would start feeding them both around 3 1/2 hrs. it will make your life so much easier. i always put them down for naps the same time. some days they don't both sleep but i have sort of forced them onto the same schedule and it worked.
