1st Annual Bella Day

So, I decided that the weekend (this Saturday to be exact) that is equally in the middle of Mother's Day and Father's Day will be called Bella Day Chat Icon. Cheesy, right Chat Icon

Being that this is the first one, I am trying to plan a fun outing with Bella and DH. Thoughts on this and help?

I am in Nassau...I was thinking after a pancake b-fast at home we would head out to:

Atlantis Marine World - We would get there as soon as it opened and spend a couple of hours (it takes about an hour and 10 minutes to get to)

Then Lunch? But where is good out there? (this is where I would LOVE some help from the Suffolk ladies) Being that Bella eats everything (this weekend was steamers and lobster bisque, last week was skirt steak...you get the picture.) it can be anywhere delicious and fun!

Then I was thinking the Strawberry Festival in St James because a. I wanted to do something with strawberries and b. it's for charity (lunch can be close to here if that's helpful)

Is this too much? Am I underestimating the distance between Riverhead and St James?

What do you think? Any other ideas for something fun? I was thinking strawberry picking, but is that enough to fill up a fun day?

TIA for your thoughts....

Re: 1st Annual Bella Day

Thanks guys Chat Icon I am SO looking forward to it. We do a lot of family stuff together, but this is a day just for her...much like Mother's Day and Father's Day. I cannot tell you how amazing our relationship is and how much I enjoy being her mommy, so I will have an annual day to try Chat Icon

If you want to eat neat St. James, and your daughter is a good eater try LUSO on Main St. in Smithtown. It's about 5 minutes from the Strawberry Festival and my kids LOVE it. It's Portugese Rodizio and the food is delicious. Chat Icon

Re: 1st Annual Bella Day

Well, it wound up being a Bella weekend of sorts Chat Icon
I didn't realize that she still had gymnastics on Saturday mornings, so that sort of threw off my plans for the day in Riverhead (over an hour away) and then St James PLUS we wound up picking my Dad up from the airport in the afternoon....

So...Saturday after gymnastics we did lunch and the Freeport Festival at the Nautical Mile. It was fun, with rides and stuff...but the crowd was kinda weird...glad we went early. We were with some friends, so Bella had some playmates.

I didn't realize that Strawberry Festival in St James was only on Saturday, so we had to quickly re-do our plans last night!

Sunday Morning was track in Plainview at 9 am, so after coming in 2nd twice and 6th once (she loved the pink ribbon better than her medals)...we headed to Bellmore for that Strawberry Festival...and SO MUCH fun. Lots of rides, games, and DH won Bella two fish. We got there at opening and she went on everything without a line and we had a blast.

DH and I were tired after all of that, so dinner out turned into chinese food and fortune cookie reading.

After our nightly book, Bella looked at me and thanked me for "the best Bella day ever!" and asked if "Bella day was tomorrow too Chat Icon" Then I realized we probably would have done this weekend without the Bella day designation and told her "Yes, Bella day is every day" and officially owned my sappy life with a big smile and a full heart.
