Are some days harder than others?

Ive been doing pretty good but for the last two days I woke up without the strength to get out of bed really. When I was pregnant I would wake up and look forward to the day (even though I hated my jobChat Icon ) but I was pregnant and that made my mornings so much better. Dont get me wrong, once Im up I do find throughout the day. Its just the initial wake up..like every morning I wake up its like the pain starts over again. Is that normal?

Re: Are some days harder than others?

Yes!

That is how I felt.

Some days were real bad. Some days I scared myself as well as my husband. I was not suicidal by any means and I did not want to take my own life but there were times in the middle of the night or in the morning that I would wake up and I felt like I didn't want to face the day or the reality of the situation. I wanted to escape my life in a way. I was filled with a lot of grief, I felt empty, hopeless, angry. I think the postpartum horomones had a lot to do with those feelings because eventually the really bad days stopped coming.

Being newly pregnant is such a high and then to lose it is such a low point. I felt like a crazy person for a few months after. Now 6 months later I feel back to normal in a sense. It's a new normal though but I don't feel insane and I'm not filled with negative emotions. I don't have that feeling where I want to sleep my life away. In the beginning I was very depressed and slept a lot.

Some days are still harder than others. Mothers Day was hard. Fathers Day will be hard. The due date will be hard. But the random days that I would wake up so sad, those days are pretty much gone.

It gets easier day by day. It's one of those things where you just have to go through the motions and emotions and time will take the sting out. It will hurt less. You will find joy again. It took me longer than most and I took the loss very hard but even I am enjoying myself this spring/summer. I still have bad days but I have had a ton of great days the last two months where I can say I felt happy again.

It's completely normal. I used to find things in the house to do to distract myself - someone told me to change my routine around. Sometimes I would get up a little earlier and go to the gym in the morning, or pick up around the house, read. Then when I came home I cleaned out every closet, drawer, shelf..took some free classes in the evening at the library, just for the distraction.

Thank you. This is exactly what Im feeling. Like, Im not suicidal. I want to live, I love my life. Its just a feeling of extreme sadness but once I get out of bed and start my day I do alright. I think this morning hit me hard since it was exactly 1 weeks since I lost the baby. And I keep thinking to myself, "Oh, I would have been 8 weeks this week" and "Oh, my first prenatal appt. would have been on Monday" Ugh, such a horrible feeling. Thanks for the consolation its good to know its a normal feeling.

this happened to me as well. and also crying at random times and days out of nowhere.

this went on for a long time to be honest.

eventually it started happening less and less.

I thought the hardest part was around what would have been week 12. I was finally getting over the initial sadness then other people started announcing they were due when I would have been.

Yes, some days are definitely harder than others. I cracked this morning and I think it's because this whole thing is being dragged out so long. It was a month ago that I found out that my HCG levels weren't increasing like they should and I'm still pregnant. I know I have you girls to vent to and my husband has been absolutely amazing. I am grateful but I can't help but feel very alone in all this.

OMG...that is just horrible. I couldnt even imagine being in that situation. What is the Dr. suggesting you do about this? Do you just have to wait it out or do you have other options?Chat Icon Chat Icon

The dr called yesterday and told me my hcg level is still increasing. I can tell he to go ahead and schedule a D&C if I want but neither of us really want to go that route. Right now the plan is take more blood on Friday and if my numbers are still rising, shedule a D&C that following week. I'm hoping that I'll miscarry on my own before then.

This is exactly how I felt as well. It was so difficult for me to face the day, and often I stayed in bed for hours or just laid on the couch. It was a very hard to for me and it too me some time to move forward.
