UPDATE: FOUND: Male pitbull in Farmingville
My parents found a male pitbull in their Farmingville neighborhood. Not too many details to give......brown, looks young, knows some command words.
UPDATE: After so much effort trying to find the owner (signs, craigslist ad, Newsday ad) we still hadn't found his owner. But my parents have decided to keep him since he's such a sweethheart and gets along with their other dog! They had some people call and offer to buy the dog if they didn't find the owner but my parents weren't really sure they these people had the best of intentions for him since he's a pure pit. They knew that they would feel best if he stayed with them!

Did they take him to a local vet or shelter to see if he is microchipped?

No Im waiting for my mom to get home so she can watch the babies for me and I'll take him. Is any vet able to scan for it?

Call the vet's office to see if they have the proper equipment. I hope you are able to find his owners.

Yay! I had a bad feeling he was "no one's pet" but now it sounds like he is someone AMAZING's pet!!!
They saved that pup's life.  for many years of love and happiness with their new pup.

As corny as it sounds I feel like part of the reason he is so sweet and affectionate is because he was thankful to have some where to eat and sleep. I love him already!

I truly believe this.
I feel the same about shelter animals.
Our pup is so sweet and affectionate and I believe it's because he knows he was rescued.
Would love to see a picture of him if you get a chance
