Is there any other medical reason for a D&C
My SIL and I were talking today about my miscarriage. She mentioned that she had a D&C about 15 years ago but said it had nothing to do with a miscarriage. She just said she started hemorrhaging one day and clots were coming out. She went to the Dr. and had a D&C..Im confused though, dont they do this procedure only when you have a miscarriage or could there be other reasons why?

Yes there are. Endometriosis is one.

I don't know if they do this anymore but my mom was having trouble conceiving and they gave her a D&C because you're supposed to be more fertile after one. I did get pregnant only 2 months after my D&C so maybe it's true?

Many reasons..
Rule out cancer being the most common
Polyp removal
Hemorrhage whether postpartum, post op, or mentrual
