Civil Service Test - Federal or NYS
Such a dopey question - but the civil service is just for NYS jobs, right? If I want to apply to a federal agency, I don't need to take the test?

I think it depends....there are civil service tests for fed employees - ie post office.
I would imagine they would have it in the job posting.

Depends on the job you are looking for. Most (or at least many) civil service jobs (federal, state, and county) have tests and also requirements that you need to meet before you can take the tests.
