Re: 17-1 Boston

Little hard to stay in contention when you have 4 SP on the DL. Redding is a joke of a starter. I'd rather a rookie in there.

I was talking to my co-workers this morning about Leiter. I agree that he will be a Yankee within a week unless the yankees make a trade very soon.

Re: 17-1 Boston

I know how you feel about the DL.

The Mets pitching staff was all over the DL last year. In fact I can't believe how healthy the Mets have been this year. So unlike them.

I did hear that Brown and Pavano are close to returning though (maybe 2 more weeks).

Yup... couldn't come at a worse time for the Yanks too... during this nasty road trip against offensive powerhouses.

Don will tell you... any Mets fan can relate to how much the injury bug ***** for your team.

as for leiter, yeah, he's gonna sign for two reasons

he's a big name
and he's a former Met

two big selling points for George

and i wish Al well, he was always one of my favorites. He will be one Yankee pitcher that I will root for. Chat Icon

I agree. A lot of Met fans are ****** at Leiter. But l always liked him.

I will *almost* root for him... but if he becomes a Yankee... i might just keep my mouth shut instead.

He's also a former Yankee. And he's almost 40. We all know how George loves the oldies.

Anthony said the same thing... will always have a place in his Mets-lovin heart for good old Al

Me, personally I don't see how he will help us at ALL .. and I could do without the 40+ year old, past their prime players that George loves to acquire.. but really, it seems like a done deal so I am gonna have to deal Chat Icon

Hey , at least it keeps him out of the broadcasting booth for Fox during the post season.. he STUNK as an announcer Chat Icon

I wasn't at all referring to the Yankees being in the playoffs or not when I stated that Leiter stunk as an announcer.. I never get 'ahead' of myself when it comes to a game as unpredictable as baseball..

I am just thankful (especially given Al's performance last night Chat Icon) as a fan of baseball that he is back on the mound with a team in the pennant race, and hopefully will be kept out of the announcers booth.. besides I will watch the post season no matter WHO winds up in the playoffs, since I am a baseball fan in general Chat Icon

Of course here's hoping that Al will be too busy pitching to even considser another invitation by Fox to work the booth in the post season Chat Icon Chat Icon

I actually liked Leiter in the broadcast booth.

Way better than Tim McCarver and that jacka$$ Buck.
