Help me get back on-

the wagon!! Cuz I fell on massively! It's been a crazy two weeks- BBQs, parties, summer school, no AC in the gym for the past two days..Chat Icon

Since last Sat. I gained 3.8lbs. (Maybe a pound or two can be contributed to AF who paid me a surprise visit today).

What motivation techniques do you use to get back into the swing of things? I don't want to let myself go!!

Don't worry! That's nothing...and I bet most if it is water weight, period weight, salt etc!

I just try to "snap myself back into it." Realize it's ok to indulge (isnt this the pot calling the kettle black?lol ) and then just get back to reality. You don't need motivation techniques, you know what do to and you do it easily! Don't panic! Chat Icon

I don't trust the scale until after my period is done. That is what i feel is my "true body weight". Also after I do my business in the morningChat Icon Usually after a party, or a string of them-first thing that I do is forgive myself, get in a really good cardio sweat session and eat lots of good, clean food that day-lots of fruit veggies and water. I wipe the slate clean and continue on. Do not look at that scale until your period is done. It will drive you insane!

I usually just plan out all my meals for the week and try to stick to them as much as possible. I will often make foods I really like to motivate me to stick with my meal plan. If I am not feeling motivated to go to the gym I will do a pilates DVD at home and some strength training. For cardio I will take a walk with my dog or go for a bike ride in the park.

I feel the same way but you will be back on track before you know it! With all the summer parties and events, it's hard not to indulge but I just try to work out a little harder to compensate although, that doesnt always happen

Thanks ladies! I had a better day today and a great workout.
I'm going to weigh in AFTER AF leaves! Hopefully that will also bring me down a bit.

Yeah that's nothing to worry about, it will go back down quickly. But for motivation, I look at the fattest, ugliest pictures I have and remind myself... I can't get like that again and it helps me continue to move forward. You already have all the tools and knowledge you need, you have made a lifestyle change not just a temporary fix, so all you need to do it keep your mind in it and not let it trip you up!!

I look at the fat clothes and remember what I looked like in them.

It's ok to fall off the wagon. It happens.

Just make up your mind to be over it and get back on track. The easiest way for me is to go crazy with veggies and fruits.
