The Alchemist- am I the only one who did NOT like it?
I just read the Alchemist after seeing so many people here recommend it.
I felt it was repetitive, flat and kind of boring.
I get that it was about the life lessons- Go after your dreams, the adventure/life lessons are in the journey not the destination, the treasure you seek could be right under your nose, blah blah blah...but it was just so flat. No character development, no other story line, etc.

I enjoyed it. Not as much as everyone else did. Then again, I don't like books that are... for lack of a better word... preachy.
