Im officially
the slowest runner ever...
I did my longest run yet this past Saturday. 7 miles. It took me 1.5 hrs
I had to stop and walk a few times but at least I finished :)
13.1 seems so far away

Don't beat yourself up. Saturday was brutal. I was out in the am for a 6.5 and I had to walk towards the end. The humidity was brutal for me.
Be proud you did it. Next you go out there you will be that much stronger!!!

It took me an hour to do 5 miles this weekend....so I feel the same way. I keep telling myself it's the heat. It will be better by the fall.

I am not my best nowadays either, but I am not trying to push myself too hard. I try to listen to my body really closely during this heat and humidity and usually that means slowing down...a lot!

Carey!!! Who cares if you are slow? I actually have slowed down A LOT because there is no way i can run 7 miles that fast! The fact is 7 miles is FAR!

Don't get down on yourself at all! When I was training for my first half, I was always beating myself up about my time thinking there was no way of finishing that long of a run. Finally, I made the choice to focus on the distance rather than the time. Once I let go of the pressure of meeting a certain time, the training became easier! I finished my first half in 2:16, 16 minutes longer than my goal BUT, I didn't care...I finished it and that in itself was an enormous accomplishment. Be proud of yourself that you are going out there every day and pushing yourself. Running 7 miles, no matter the pace, is still an amazing accomplishment!

I love this board..thanks ladies, you're right... im looking at this wrong. I am excited about the distance completed and Im going to stop focusing on time

OMG DO NOT worry about that! it is AWESOME that you are comleting that training and distance!! it takes me 5 hrs to run a marathon!  but i don't care..time does not matter. you are doing great!! you should be proud of yourself!

Great job! The weather is definitely slowing everyone down!! All my runs have been much slower. I hate it. Congrats on reaching 7 and you CAN totally do 13.1!!
