how long did it take you to get a period after d&C

my doctor is bringing me in for a post-op in 4 weeks, then he says i just wait for a period and start to try again.
hospital paperwork says on average 4-8 weeks...
seems like an eternity...
i'm just wondering what was most common in real life.

30 days for my first period post d&c. My cycles after were anywhere from 26-29 days. Before the d&c I was on birth control but my cycles after the pregnancy and surgery went right to being regular.

I got AF exactly 1 month later.

after the first d&c it took 6 weeks, the second time it took a little more than 4 weeks

It was 5 weeks to the day from my D&C, 4 weeks from when the post-D&C bleeding stopped.

AND, the first day of my vacation. Ugh.

I got AF just before the 5 week mark after.

look on the bright side - AF means time is no longer standing still, and you are one step closer to TTC again. vacation or no vacation, next time i get AF will probably be the next time i feel hopeful again.

26 days. I think the avg. is 30 days though! GL I hope it comes soon!!!!!

I am pretty sure I got it today. So one day shy of 5 weeks.

Close to 6 weeks.

I keep track of all my cycles and just looked it up - August 11, 2010 I had my m/c, AF came on Sept 30, 2010.

Good point. It was just awful though physically - not what you want on a beach trip!

Edited to say that my doctor wants me to wait 2-3 cycles though, so I still have a ways to go.

37 days, my cycle was 26-28 days before

mine came back in a month. a friend of mine just went through this as well, and hers took around a month as well. i thought i wasn't ready to try yet, so we weren't really...and on one non-try it happened for us and i'm 4.5 months now. so don't loose hope at all. i hear it can happen that way, like your body is in tune to it now and it can happen very quickly after a miscarriage. i'm sorry for anyone who has to go through a mis though...ppl who haven't gone through it just don't understand how hard it is. good luck to you and all the girls on here, and hope to see you on the pregnancy board real soon!!!

ETA: sorry girls, i didn't completely read that the original question was period returning after a d&c...my body passed everything naturally while i was waiting for the procedure so i didn't need it. i'd say maybe that means my period came more quickly than usual b/c of this?? but my friend just had a d&c, and hers came back in about a month as well. HTH, just wanted to be more accurate.
