A video to show running gait differences

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrOgDCZ4GUo

Since I'm just starting to think about this and get into jogging/running, I thought I'd share this video.

I think this is pretty helpful to show 2 different running forms (heel strike vs. mid-foot) and explains where your feet should be. I had someone explain it to me verbally but it helps more to see it. I plan on recording myself to see if I can sustain the mid-foot gait (on the right) naturally and for longer periods.

Also notice that in the Before video, her upper body seems to be almost straight vertically whereas in the After she is leaning just a bit more forward.

Think about it, when you run, you're propelling your body to a forward position from where it currently is, so by running with an 'up and down' motion, you're being counter-productive. That's more of a trot than a run.
