Re: Birthday Party ideas!
we had our 6 year old party at pump it up and they are really great there. My nephew had hos 4th and 5th parties there too and my BIL and I were on everything.
my 4 year old had his party 2 weeks later and was very upset that it wasn't at pump it up
It really includes everyone from 3-adult

Re: Birthday Party ideas!
Karate parties are generally the least expensive (and have unlimited number of kids for the same price!)
I would do Pump It Up rather than bowling unless it's a small alley. The bowling parties I've been too were nervewracking for the parents. I had planned on doing a drop off but after I saw the set up -kids were wandering in & out of bathrooms, plenty of older guys drinking early in the am, outside door located next to the bathrooms, I stayed. My kid was more interested with the bowling but some of the boys snuck outside & into the bar area. I became THAT parent & told them to get back by the party.
Other parties my kids liked: Saf-T-Swim Winners Edge Sports Training: http://www.winnersedgesportstraining.com/

While I realize that we have all been to 1,000 bounce parties and as parents we are bored. The KIDS love them. We went to another one last week and my 10yr and my 3yr did not want to leave. They were in heaven.

I also love the pump it up parties.
I just wanted to add that today I clipped something from a magazine. Its a new place in ronkonkoma that does indoor sports such as baseball, dodgeball, obstacle courses etc... I am going to try to look up the name now. My friend runs bday parties for kids at CATZ in commack (same idea as above). There is also one on nicholls rd down towards bayport. They all sound like alot of fun.

Re: Birthday Party ideas!
I think I have done every kind of party with 3 boys and I am always looking for something new. Karate parties are awesome, my little guy loved Pump it up the best for bouncy places(super organized & clean), my son's ice-skating party at the The Rinx was by far the easiest and cheapest($200)! I love the look of the KZAM party, I just wish it was a little closer to me. I also thought about the Monster mini golf, but thought the kids might get scared. Like Barb said bowling is a good party, but stressful with all the other people around. I am still looking for my youngest son's place to book. I wish Suffolk had more new choices.

I just heard about Kzam and it looks fun. We did my son's 6th at saftswim and he loved it. All kids still love bounce places. My son just had it at Bouncers and Slydos for his 4th this weekend and even the big boys had fun.

We were intially planning on Saf-t-swim; and DS immediately thought of his 2yr old brother and asked "what will Brayden do".... then the image of myself trying to "host" this party and getting in and out of a bathing suit to take in my 2yr old played into realty and any pool party thoughts went right out the window...

Re: Birthday Party ideas!
I don't know if it's too juvenile (my guess is no, but who knows?), but Safari Adventure is fun for the kids since there's a climbing structure, bounce houses and games.
But the sports party sounds perfect!!

We went to a bday party here and it was "ok" (they are slighly unorganized)
We ended up signing my DC's up here for gymnastics though because they are very very reasonable.....

Do they have all the gymnastics equipment that a typical gymnastics place has? I saw their prices and they are super reasonable.

In all honesy, since this is my first experience with gymnastics, I cannot say for certain....But I am "thinking" that this place seems to be very beginner ....
The instructors are very young and currently they are holding summer camp during most classes so its pretty chaotic when we go...My kids enjoy it (because who doesnt love jumping and flipping ) but it seems to not be extremely instructional from my experience thus far.....
What drew me to them is that you get 10 classes which you can use whenever you like (classes are offerend on multiple days and times) so its very flexible for me ....The classes do not need to be used consectutively so if you miss, you just come whenever...so for me , I am using it as an activity....
When/if my DS really shows a true interest in gymnastics I will be seeking out another place (possibly Eastern Gymnastics)
Here is what they have that I've seen equipment wise.....
low balance beam tumbling mats and incline ramps long inflatable bouncy type thing they go across bar (that they can flip on)
Havent seen parallel bars or the horse (is that what its called )

We went to a party there the first week it opened. The only negative I found was there transition into the next room Fromm the first room. Other than that Jacob had a ball... I am only having boys this year, that is what Jacob wanted.. I can only imagine how 20 6 yr old boys will be in a big maze where you can shoot nerf balls all over!
It is owned by 2 moms who live in the HHH district..

Re: Birthday Party ideas!
While I feel like everyone has been to at least one bouncy place party, my kids always have a good time when they go to one. So I'd do a Pump it Up party.

I agree with above, bounce places are always a hit. I did karate for DD's 4th and it was so reasonable and unlimited kids. They did paper goods and pizza, I just had to bring drinks and cake.

Re: Birthday Party ideas!
if he's into science there are a lot of unusual bday parties in local museums that do a science themed party. I volunteered at Childrens Maritime Museum in Pt Jeff and the boys would usually choose to make GAK and had fun w. that. I'm sure Cold Spring and the Sayville Maritime museums do parties as well. Plus they are usually less expensive too. Oh and the Long Island Science Museum in Riverhead - they have all the dinosaur stuff. I've never been, but another place to check out.

What about a swimming party? You can usually rent the indoor pool at most hotels. Have pizza, cake and call oT a day

Re: Birthday Party ideas!
Check out NYSC in Deer Park - they have a party room and have a few different varieties of parties to choose from. We went to a 4 year old's party there (and there were mixed ages for the guests) and everyone had a good time. VERY clean. You can also add a swim portion to the party if you want that element as well.
