If there was a child free development where you live..

would you buy a home there given that the house (condo, whatever) - met all your other criteria - price, amenities, etc.?

Or even if it was a +40 development or something, without having to wait until you were +55.

You don't have to answer why. I'm just looking to see if I would be the only one

My answer - yes, at this point in my life - at 43, knowing i will never have kids, I would do it.

I voted yes because I would consider it but the price, location & amenities would be the driving force behind the decision.

I agree with the other points, I would want the amenities and the price would have to be right, I'll revise my question.

As of right now, no. We're still planning on having children... eventually. But even if we weren't, I still love kids (especially one's that I don't have to deal with ona regular basis) so I don't mind living in an area with a lot of families.

I'd have to say no. I'm a fan of mixed nabes and part of that is having kids around. I don't dislike 'em and it's not like I can't have 'em (so it's not emotionally distressing to be around them) so I say why not?

Re: If there was a child free development where you live..

I like diversity in ages. One of the things I dread about getting old is living in a retirement community/assisted living/nursing home where everyone is the same age.

The thought of it reminds me too much of high school and makes me shudder.
