Quite a few people on this board were helpful to me so I wanted to just do a general thank you shout out in addition to any FMs.

I did not advance past the second (panel) interview for the middle school job. I am so disappointed; I really thought I did well.

When the guy called and said they were moving forward with other candidates, I said "I'm sorry to hear that" to which he replied "So am I." He then went on to say that he was impressed with my qualifications but when other opinions come into the mix sometimes things change. I took that to mean that he preferred me but was outvoted. Made me feel just a tiny, tiny bit better.

Anyway, thanks again all, and if you have any last minute Social Studies openings at your school, either on LI or ANYWHERE in the city, please don't keep them a secret.

I know the feeling. I had two interviews this week & am anxiously waiting to hear back from the second one now. I will keep my eyes out for SS postings!

If I were you, I would call back and ask to speak to that person and ask if they have any suggestions or other principal connections he could refer you too. You have nothing to lose!! When I was student teaching, this is how my coorndinating teacher got her job (not exactly but similar)
