Questiona bout emrolling child in school not in your area( NYC)
So I moved to a prek-5 school. Right now my son will go to catholic school nursery school. I was thinking maybe( if i like the school) I woudl try to enroll him in the school where I teach. Problem is we live in Douglaston Queens( but hopefuilly will be in NAssau by next sept) is it even pssible to enroll him in a school in Brooklyn?

i'm not sure about other bk districts, but my district is a lottery and my son was refused 2x...i have to find private daycare/upk programs now :( it is so frustrating b/c he deserves an education too :(

I do not think the Principal would allow him to attend the school you teach in even if you could do it. Also (I am sure you know this) Douglaston has some of the best elem schools in the city

no, i guess i wasnt clear sorry they go to catholic school now by the sitter and the plan is for him to go there next year and use the sitter for before and after care. If i coudl do this it would be perfect. BY our house is not an option bc I have noone for before and afterc are.

Yes, it is possible. Your principal would have to sign of on a variance and what not. Then depending on space in the program you could totally do it.
I work in BK and we have had many kids from SI and Queens with variances.
good luck!
