Bird owners...
How many days can you leave a bird alone in the house, as long as we have several water and food cups set up? We have a canary and so far no one to watch him.

Re: Bird owners...
Does your canary splash his water out? My finch does and would only make it 1 day but if your bird doesnt, and you maybe put a couple of millet sprays in the cage too... 3 days should be ok I would say.

No he doesn't splash water out at all, His cups are kind of small even though he does try to get into them. Fortunately, someone came through for me so he will have a home for a few days. Thanks for your reponse.

Re: Bird owners...
My bird is disgusting. He dips all of his food in his water before eating it and a lot of it ends up in the water bowl each day. I normally change it 2-5 times a day. I won't leave more than overnight without having my brother come by and change the water. With that said, every bird is different. I know you found someone now but I would say for most birds a weekend should be fine.

Re: Bird owners...
Radiolau, you are right. I may well run into this same problem again. I decided to put extra food and water cups in his cage and watch him without changing anything for a couple of days - like a trial run while we are here to see. Thankfully Sunny is back home and all went well.
