kitty bathroom question

Stubby the last few weeks keeps peeing outside of the box. She goes in but doesn't turn around like she used to so her butt is hanging out of the box and its streaming down the sides. Any suggestions?

My cat does the same thing sometimes. She's 16 now, so I assume it has something to do with old age. I place a couple puppy training pads under the litter box, so at least when she misses, the clean up is much easier. I also got a litter box with taller sides, but she still seems to get it over the edge sometimes.

Does he need a bigger box? We have the largest one they sell in petco and it is just big enough for Miso. I also have covers on ours which might help.

I turned the largest box around and now it seems to keep the pee in. She is basically sitting on the lower lip and peeing so by turning it around and forcing her to go on the higher end it doesn't go out. Now for the covered one we will have to replace and get something with a higher lip. She is only 5 (we think)
