So, today is my last day of Week 6 and I'm nervous. I have completed every run up until now, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that it was a bit of a stuggle. I'm sure a lot of it is mental, but my legs also get tired quickly and towards the end of the workout, I find it very hard to catch my breath fully. It's like I can take shallow breaths but not complete ones (if that makes sense). Anyway, I'm not sure why I'm posting this- maybe I just need a pep talk or to hear that others dealt with the same things at this stage. Either way, I'm gonna do my best, I guess I'm just intimidated. And in my life, that is not the norm. Thanks for reading and if you can respond with any words of wisdom, that would be great! ETA: For those who don't do the C25K, Week 6 Day 3 is a 5 minute warmup, 25 minute run, 5 minute cool down. Chat Icon

I struggled with this run for about 2 weeks. I did the 20 minutes run with no problems at all, and this run seemed a lot harder for some reason. I haven't run in 3 weeks because I injured my knee and wanted to take time off (then I evacuated because of Irene so I was away for a week and a half Chat Icon ), so I'll be basically starting the 25 minute run all over again. I feel like every week since the very beginning has been a bit of a struggle, I'm still waiting for it to get easier Chat Icon I'm sure it will, but just remember to do what you can do. If you have to repeat a week, do it. It's not a race! I was kind of competing with myself and I wanted to beat my previous time per mile, that's how I injured my knee (but I beat my time by 40 seconds/mile Chat Icon ). Now I know not to do that again, lol.

My advice is to slow down when you need to. I tend to start out at a faster jog, and then when I start to get really tired or out of breath I do a VERY slow jog, just fast enough to not be considered walking, lol. Then I pick it up when I feel I can. Remember that you're doing a great job, and you can do it!!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
