My DS started there in the summer. He is three and in the starting early program. I absolutely love it. He is in the 6:1:3 class and will be put in the integrated class next door quite a bit. We have parent training with his teacher 2x per month and they have a family support group as well. We live in Port Jeff and decided to bring him out there because they do offer integration when the kids are ready. We also work nearby, which is a plus. He loves taking the bus too. I know every school has their supporters and non supporters. So far we are very happy with the program. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Hello
I actually work at DDI Smithtown [Hollywood Drive] at the children's residential homes. A friend of mine transferred from Hollywood drive to the DDI in Huntington...and she absolutely loved it there. I have been in that school a few times while dropping off children from the residence I work at. It is a beautiful school, and there are many enthusiastic and knowledgeable teachers and TA's there. They seem to be very dedicated and interested in the child's goals.
Also...another plus - DDI is looking into Music Therapy for that school, as well as many others! [if you have questions about music therapy let me know!] best of luck! :)

If DS gets additional services, I think DDI does not do pull outs for individual speech/OT/PT.

I worked in Children's Day at Huntington and in that program speech and ot were push-in services (individual and group) and pt was usually a pull-out to work in the therapy gym.

I don't have personal experience (except that we live behind the woods behind it  ), but friends of ours' son went there and they are very very happy there.
