Gifts
If you're a step-parent...do you buy gifts for your SC to give to your spouse on his/her birthday and on holidays, or does their ex buy the gifts?

I buy the gifts for them to give DH. Well, actually I take them to buy gifts or ask them what they want and go get it. If we let ex buy him a gift, it would be rat poison in a chocolate bar

I take SS out shopping for DH. This year it was amazon b/c SS just has no free time with high school now.

We get cards for each other from ds. His wife and my mom take ds out for gifts

I looks like I'm in the minority, which is why I was curious...my DH and his Ex buys the gifts for SS.

I treat SS as if he were my own -- so when it is DH's birthday or father's day, I help SS buy a present and make a card or anything else that you would typically do with a biological child. DH does the same for me -- for my birthday, for example, DH will take SS out and find a present for me.

Haha I hear ya, but that's why I think I'm in the minority. DH and I have a great relationship with his Ex.
