applying...no responses...vent
I've been seeking a new job for over two months now. (My current job situation is horrible and I need out ASAP.) I've been applying for positions that I feel I am a perfect fit for but...I am not getting any responses...not even from a headhunter I saw! I e-mailed him for a follow-up and haven't heard back.
I know two months is not a long time at all. I'm just venting about not receiving any replies. Not even a "thanks for your submission."
Anyone else going through this?
Thanks for listening

I work in a field that traditionally, one would think would always be hiring and whenever I've sent out a resume over the past TWO years, I have not heard anything either.
I really believe that you need to know someone who is willing to pass on your resume to the right people, in order to have a chance to get a job these days.

I agree..and it sucks
I am sorry you're having difficulty too.
I guess good things come to those who wait....and wait....and wait...right? Lots of luck

Re: applying...no responses...vent
This happens to me all the time. I finally got a call back from a headhunter, went on an interview that didn't work out and now I can not get in touch with the headhunter again, they won't call me back.. and I know its nothing I did, the job I interviewed for loved me but I just didn't have the specific experience they were looking for.
I did hear on the radio recently that alot of companies recieve so many resumes and cover letters that they quickly scan over them to find the best fit.. therefore you should make sure you include a lot of keywords from the actual job posting in your resume and cover letter, they use those to electronically scan through. You will have a better chance of your resume being recognized and a call back. I am going to try this going forward.

ITA make sure you have an excellent resume that can catch HR's eyes for the positions they're hiring for. I considered leaving my job last year; and sent my resume out; i had a ton of interviews; but nothing worked out. But i learned from research the tip about the keywords.
Also-i read not to have just ONE resume; that way it's not so "general" you can tweak the resume to highlight key strengths for each particular job you may be applying for. Good Luck!
