Re: motivation needed
I was the exact same way. I was kinda waiting for the weight to just fall off on its own. Finally I realized that isn't going to happen so I started the couch to 5k program. Once dd is sleeping I go in basement on the treadmill and do it. Its only 3 days a week, I try and atleast walk another 3 days a week. But this program is great because it starts off really slow and its only about 25 minutes a night. Plus you are exercising to reach a goal that is not just weight loss. I am on week 2 right now and I am loving it

Re: motivation needed
Finding something you enjoy that doesn't seem like exercise I feel is key.
For me, that has been hot yoga class.
It is my "me" time and has really helped change my body.
I also know that I am paying good money to go, so I make it a point to at least attend 3x a week if not more, so I feel like I am really getting my money's worth.
The only major downfall is that it IS INDEED a time committment.
This month has been rough because DH is on a big job so he is not home at his usual time at night and on weekends, so I have not been able to go as much.
I think it is absolutely worthwhile to at least check out though, if for the special only. At my studio, you can get 10 consecutive days of unlimited classes for $20.00, if you are new to the studio.
AND it can be done and modified by anyone, regardless of your body type, age, fitness level, etc.
I would say that many of the students who go to class are not rockstar yoga types ;).

Re: motivation needed
Hot Yoga Massapequa.
And trust me, you don't need to be "in shape" to go.
Most people are not what you picture when you think of yoga, and the class is geared to beginners.
