Diarrhea/Litterbox issues with Cats?
sorry if this is TMI, but my 2 year old cat has been having bouts with diarrhea since Sunday. It usually happens around 8-9 at night (i feed them at 6:30), sometimes its near his litter box, other times he's laying down in his bed, gets up and goes on the floor or carpet- almost like it comes so quickly he doesn't have time to get to the box. I have 2 other cats beside him, and clean their litter boxes every day. He is the only one to be having this issue. I have an appt with the vet tomorrow, but I am hoping one of you have had the same experience and if there is anything I can do now to help him. I usually give them each a pouch of Friskies Seafood Favorites, and mix in a bit of dry food in their bowls. Any advice or some thing I'm doing wrong? I feel so bad for my little guy- he's the spunky runt of the group

Re: Diarrhea/Litterbox issues with Cats?
I would probably take him to the vet. It could be an issue with the food and maybe switching brands will help.
Sometimes if they have pain going to the bathroom, they won't use their litter box because they think the pain is caused by the box - this could be why he is doing it outside the box. Although your theory sounds like it could be correct too.
Hope they are able to help your little guy and he feels better soon.
