Another SCOPE Npt/ENpt question
SCOPE is available first to families who are already enrolled, then to new families. Does anyone know if kindergarten families (with no other children currently enrolled in SCOPE) have a chance at getting a spot? And when would you find out that you didn't? I think the open house is in March or April, so I'm wondering if you don't know until May or June about a space. Seems kind of late to switch schools if you don't.
Thanks everyone!

Re: Another SCOPE Npt/ENpt question
Are you taking about Kindergarten Enrichment or the aftercare program?
I would imagine it's fairly easy to get in if you sign up as soon as it's registration. We were on the waiting list for a few weeks when we switched schools in the fall.

FM my sister, Nancy6485
My nephew was on the waiting list, but, got into the SCOPE enrichment program when he was in Kindergarten.
I truly do not remember the whole process though (he's OOS in 2nd grade now).

Re: Another SCOPE Npt/ENpt question
DS was in the kindergarten enrichment SCOPE program. We attended the open house and registration and did not get it - we were waitlisted. I got a call about 1 week before school started that they had a drop out and DS got in! I dropped him at the program in the AM @ Laurel Rd School, he had lunch there and then they bussed the students to the elementry schools. He loved it and it was very reasonably priced compared to daycare!
Just because you register does not mean that you get in, unfortunately

DS is currently in this program
yes, SCOPE is open to families who already had a child enrolled in SCOPE first. than to new families.
they have 40 spots in the AM program and usually 20 in the afternoon. most people prefer AM SCOPE and afternoon K so then they can also do After Care SCOPE at the home school. if you do afternoon SCOPE, you need to pick your DC up at Laurel Ave.
I found out DS got into SCOPE around the end of May and then I waited until end of June to find out he got PM K.
i know it stinks but you can switch schools at the very last minute, my sister switched her DS to St. Paul's just days before school started.
I know someone who is 4th or 5th on the wait list at SCOPE and she is over thinking her DS has a chance of getting in at this point.
