Anyone else hate their job this year?

Ccss are insane and my school is taking it to the next level of ridiculous!

My grade got 3 new programs

They are obsessed with showing rigor and now have bulletin board competitions. We spend all month working on it and it takes away from what we really should be doing.

Im tired, im stressed. My prep is non stop, i work through lunch, i cant plan one more guided reading group, small group, strategy group or center... or another second of my day! There is no time.

Meantime the middle school teachers in my building get 2 preps, lunch and a club period. Ummmm how is that? I have a prep and a lunch.

I reallu hate being a teacher now!

I love myjob, definitely dont hate it but it is more difficult than past years. Our class sizes are a little bigger. I have a couple classes that are challenging and dont have an aide coming to specials yet, but that will come. Im putting on the first huge event of the year on the 11th. I dont have enough volunteers. the worst thing though is Im team teaching with someone and this year at some times we have different grades so we have to open and close the wall in the gym between classes which is so slow and takes too much time. We also have ONE common prep time a week and that may be changing. My schedule has changed numerous times already. The person I teach with is split between schools so we cant set up or clean up together because her hours there are 10 - 2:30. not complaining. I really am very happy to have my job and love it, but it has been very stressful so far

Yes. I am in a rough school this year.

I have always loved teaching 5th grade, but not this year...I've already had a chair thrown at me and been called every name in the book.

I'm actively looking for another job because I think I'll wind up losing my s*** with the kids...they are so UNBELIEVABLY disrespectful. And, why bother planning lessons anymore? I don't get through half of them because all these kids do is play.

I applied for an Academic Advising position at one of the local universities here. I am really hoping it pans out, I need a change big time.
