ABA agencies/jobs
Does anyone know of any companies or agencies that hire ABA therapists without their special ed license? I have been working with children with autism for 16 years so I have tons of experience but do not have my special ed license. I am working on my Masters degree which will give me the license but it been slow going, especially now having a newborn. I know I can work with families privately and have done so in the past but those are difficult to find.
I've been in touch with a bunch of agencies and they all consider anyone who doesn't have their license a para and only pay $9-10/hour. If anyone has any recommendations of places to get in touch with, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!

My agency used to...like if you were going to school to get your masters/cert then they would hire you since you were on your way to getting it. (this is what happened with me). But this was also 5 years ago....and I know that now it is the school districts that require the therapist to have their certifications and degree in spec ed... so an agency may not hire you without them.

Another thought is to try human services agencies that do not necessarily provide services to children, but need staff who are trained in how to work with people with behavioral issues in general (i.e. adults).
I also worked in a residential treatment facility for teenage girls years ago and you only needed a HS diploma.
The agency provided all the training on how to deal with the behavioral stuff that came out with these girls.
