Next month my sons karate school will be holding a Kick-A-Thon for the benefit of Liam McGuire.

Liam McGuire is a karate student who was training to be a junior black belt until he was diagnosed in January 2011 with a very rare form of leukemia which even Stony Brook Hopsital has never seen or treated. You can check out (and please LIKE) the page set up for him on facebook "Friends 4 Liam".

Liam has been dealing with the battle day in and day out. As we read the papers and hear from people in the community, Laim continues to show perserverance and strength to overcome some of the toughest odds a child should ever have to deal with. He still has some of the hardest and toughest treaments ahead of him, and our goal is to make a difference and help Liam and his family with the continued cost of his treatments.

We are asking that you please make a donation. Even a donation as little as $1.00 will go a long way. I have set up a paypal account KickAThon2011 @ hotmail.com and will be personally covering any paypal fees so that all donations go directly to the family. If you would prefer to send a check, please send me a private message. The schools goal was for each student to raise $100 for Liam and his family. We have tripled our personal family goal to $300.
