I don't like it, right now anyway. But that's probably because we just were given a dx and I'm angry and bitter. I can see the message behind it though and hopefully one day I'll grow to appreciate and love it too.

I guess I'm not a fan either. I don't want to go somewhere different, if I could chose I want to be in Holland. So yes I'm dealing with autism but I personally don't find it to be a beautiful world. I think kids on the spectrum (or any one in fact that has health/medical/mental issues) just have a raw deal. That's just my personal opinion.

Re: "Welcome to Holland"....beautiful
I understand both points. No, I don't want to be in Holland. I want to be where I was supposed to go. I don't want my daughter to struggle; and at times it does seem like there is nothing beautiful in Holland. But things don't always go the way we plan. I look at my daughter and she is smart and loving; and her disability diesnt change that. It's who she is. So Holland at times is a not so nice place....but its where I was meant to go. The beauty in Holland is when she has a good day at school, when she hugs me, when she speaks things on her own, when she plays with her sister.....yes, there is beauty in Holland!

I agree with you. while I did not choose to go to Holland I will just have to sit back and enjoy the beauty of Holland because a lifetime of resenting Holland really effects my psyche. It's just the way I deal with it but I totally understand why others don't like it. If I don't stay positive it is reflected in my actions. So silly things like this help me to remember to try and see beauty in a situation that I would otherwise wish I wasn't in.
I don't think anyone is saying that they would choose Holland over somewhere better. Although ironically the only place in Europe that I have ever been to is Holland in real life...lol.
