what is going on?
i have been gaining weight and I have isolated the reasons to being - i dont get enough exercise (obviously) and... after a few hours of not eating (like 2 hours), I get what feels like acid reflux. when i eat, the feeling goes away? what the heck? it isnt a typical hunger feeling i keep eating to make the pain go away but this isnt helping my weight battle.
anyone else experience something similar? does this sound like acid reflux?
eta - ive been trying to just drink water when I have the feeling but it only helps for maybe 10-15 minutes

Re: what is going on?
Could you possibily be pregnant?
I remember this all too well when I was pg and the only way to feel btr was to eat and well HB is a big symptom to pregnancy.
if not,
Milk and antacids will help with reflux. Get some Tums and start there.

no, 100% not pregnant though I did have terrible reflux with DS and it never went away 100%. i never had it day in my life before DS. i guess i should start with antacids and see if that helps.

Re: what is going on?
If you need to eat every two hours break you meals up into smaller portions instead of eating three meals a day have six or seven meal a day that equal the same number of calories. I would go see the doctor if the reflux does not get better.

Re: what is going on?
I think it is acid reflux, but I am not a doctor. Both my mom and I suffer from this. Well, the doctor told me it was an "Acidic stomach", I'm not sure if it is the same as reflux. If we don't eat for periods, there is a painful almost burning sensation in my stomach. As soon as I eat (it can be one small butter cookie) it feels immediately better. it just needs that in there i guess to absorb the acid.

Coffee is very acidic and could cause reflux...so can soda and juice.

Absolutely...stop the coffee...even decaf. I had acid reflux..so bad that it was burning my vocal cords! (not good for a music teacher!) Anyway, i stopped drinking coffee altogether and it is much better.
I also agree about breaking your meals into smaller portions more frequently throughout the day!

Re: what is going on?
thanks ladies. i have stopped drinking all juice and soda as part of my "attempt" at weight loss but I will also severely limit coffee - THIS will be hard.
