I can't wait to read Suri's Burn Blog when some celeb's kid is shown wearing these.

Re: Has Gap lost their mind?
I know at least one mom who would absolutely buy these if she sees them. Her daughter wore what was basically a one shouldered red sequined mini dress with suede riding boots last year for the holidays. She just turned 10.

Re: Has Gap lost their mind?
Paired with red or black tights these maybe ok.. as long as the butt cheeks are covered and not too tight.

I know someone who'd buy them, unfortunately we are related. Thankfully not by blood (and 2 sizes too small for her 13 yr old)

That's what I was thinking...or under a dress. I just saw the shorts/tights look in the Next Direct catalog and it's cute. Wouldn't wear them alone though!

All I could think of is Chris Rock's...
"Got to keep her off the pole... just got to keep her off the pole."
H EEEEE Double Hockey Sticks to the NOOOO! No way, not appropriate in my book. Way too much sexualization of little girls.
Even DD's dolls wear more.

ITA. I just get so creeped out seeing "sexy" clothing on completely undeveloped, pre-pubescent little bodies. Sooooo wrong to me.

Re: Has Gap lost their mind?
I have to know, Barb, did you write the review? Hahaha. I could see them paired with opaque tights, I guess. but that's a stretch. Those are terrible.

Eh...
See I just can't understand trying to figure out a way to make inappropriate clothing look appropriate...
To me...they just shouldn't even have come up with them for kids in the first place!
Heck, most grown adults shouldn't be wearing them anyway!

Re: Has Gap lost their mind?
I just returned Gap jeans because they were cut SO LOW on DD, and filed a formal complaint. What 4 year old should be showing her butt crack???????

No that's not mine. I just saw them when I was looking for holiday outfits for dd. My first throught was "Wow would people talk about my card this year!"
Kara - I've started to get my daughter long shirts to compensate for the jeans. I'm trying to find a pair that isn't low-rise.

We had good luck this year with Osh Kosh Jeans --- but I think they might only go up to a size 8 or so. Emily is already a size 7!

Clearly, you just add an owl t-shirt & it's fine!

Re: Has Gap lost their mind?
that is disguisting! I was just going on about how our culture is grossly sexualizing our youth. My daughter was listening to Kid Bops and singing about stilleto's. It's insane!

Ok, I didn't think it was that bad. Until,I saw how short they are! Holy Christmas, even on my little peanuts their azz would be showing.
Not a cute look.

Re: Has Gap lost their mind?
Well my DD is 7 and I can easily think of 6-8 girls her age whose parent might be purchasing this look. NEVER would you see my child wearing this or anything remotely similar at 7 or at 10 or at 13 or at 15.... Yes, I'm saying never bc first of all, it would not get past me, Second, it would not get past my husband. Certain things are not up for discussion... like car safety and suggestive clothing. Even if my child doesn't realize it's suggestive, it's my job as a parent to make sure she is age appropriate. But I don't know if it's vicarious living or lack of willingness to fight with the child but I see quite a bit of child directed inappropriate behavior where I live and I will assume it's not just in my 10 mile radius since Gap is featuring it as a trendy look.
