Gogo's......
Why the hell didn't I invent these things and what is the attraction to them 
They are like gumball machine blobs and they go for top dollar 
I am bidding on lots of them on Ebay and never knew the original series were out in the 1990's....
My 6yo and almost 3yo fight over these silly things

Here they are:
They are like 1" high and there is a game they play with them (my DS only collects them, doesnt play the game)

My boys love them too. I went crazy looking for them and when I found them I was like this really I found the gold tin in target and silver tin in toys r us. $20 a tin

Wow... I guess they're just not known here in NC yet. Remember, it's the South, they're a little slower than us Yankees! My son is into Pokemon cards with a couple of the older kids.  I thought Pokemon died out a long time ago.
Those things are a lot cuter, but what do you do with them?

LOL....beware, they are on their way !!
If you click that link I posted, it shows some of the games that the kids play...One I guess its sort of a spin-off of "jacks"...
My DS just lines them up on his dresser and fights with his sister over them
And there are apparently knock off Gogo's so you have to be careful which ones you buy

Saw these today at a new store called five below on Hempstead Tpke in Levittown by Kohl's. The concept of the store is everything is $5 or less. I didn't pay much attention to the price or how big the package was, there were about 6-8 kids crowded around going crazy for them though !!
