I really just use it for BTDT info, but here is there "about"
So, since there's a bit more activity (I remember when there were just the fewer-than-20 of us who started this group), I figured I'd just post a little info about the group so you know why it's here and what the expectation is.
NPT has it's roots in the Parenting Multiples forum of the mothering.com discussion boards back a bazillion years ago. Okay, so more like 5 to 6 years ago, but who's counting? A few fabulous mamas realized that some of the stuff we deal with when planning our twin births and dealing with twin newborns is easier to deal with in a smaller, more private setting, and started what those of us "old-timers" like to call "The Old Purple Board"-- a free ezboard with invitation-only membership so you kind of knew who was coming. You had to know somebody to get in, kind of like an old speakeasy but without the liquor or lawbreaking. I was not one of the founding members, which is sad, because they are super cool, uber-crunchy mamas, friends to the end, and very devoted to helping each other and other twin mamas with support, love, and ideas.
I joined this story in December of 2006. That was when, while planning a homebirth after cesarean, I found out I was having twins. The freak-out was so spectacular that it was heard by one of the original NPT founders well over 1000 miles away, and she invited me to join this super cool club of crunchy twin moms. They were my rock, my inspiration, and my sanity throughout my twin pregnancy, the first ones I wanted notified after my birth, and continued to be a stabilizing and inspirational force in HUGE ways when I had infants, and even now that my kids are older.
In 2007, we got our own paid domain name, and the 2 dozen members we had at the time wanted to use that domain to provide an open source for information sharing between twin moms. The result is http://naturallyparentingtwins.com . Check it out if you get a chance! It's a work in progress, and truly, as we've all grown busy, some of the progress has slowed a bit. If you want to write up an article for us over there, feel free to create a user account there, familiarize yourself a bit with the tone, setup, and general understanding of what it means to naturally parent your twins, and then let one of us know you want to be a "content creator." We'll help you out from there.
