speech
Can anyone recommend a good speech therapist. My daughter has been stuttering for awhile and I want to get her evaluated. I have GHI insurance. I have been finding that most therapist don't participate with this insurance. Thanks!

Re: speech
You can go through the health department (EI) or School District ( CPSE) to get your child evaluated. We had my son evaluated by the Nassau County Department of Health when he was 18 months old. Once he aged out of the EI program the summer he turned 3, then our school district (CPSE dept.) had him evaluated. You shouldn't need to go through insurance.
My son has speech delay and did stutter for a short period of time. The most important thing is not to say anything to your child about the stutter.
Good Luck!

Re: speech
Are you in Suffolk? I have a great therapist, I think she lives in Patchogue but I could look up the agency for you if it's close.
