How long were you able to work full-time?

How long were you able to work and when did you deliver?

I'm really hoping to work as long as possible. With my son, I worked until 3 days before I had him! Chat Icon I'm guessing I won't be able to go THAT long, but I really want as much time as possible with the babies and I don't have any days to spare.

Re: How long were you able to work full-time?

I worked in the office up until about 23 weeks. Then i had a cerclage at 24 weeks and took 2 weeks off. At 26 weeks my job was good enough to let me work from home 3 days a week and my high risk said i can go to the office 2 days. I worked from bed 3 days a week and sat at my desk with my feet up until i went into labor and had them at 32 weeks! I took 2 weeks off when i had them and came back to work until the twins came home from the NICU. You never know, some people are different. You can make it all the way until your due date, unless you are on your feet all day long!

I was only working part time when I was pregnant but I worked on my feet for 4-8 hours depending on my shift. My doctor had me stop about 30 weeks when my BP started rising.

Re: How long were you able to work full-time?

I started pre term labor at 34 weeks. At 34,5 weeks i stopped working after i ended up in the hospital with contrax every 2 minutes and needed the shots to stop them. I continued to work from home (not f/t, just emails and conf calls as needed) until the day i delivered 36w6d.

Re: How long were you able to work full-time?

I stopped at 31 weeks

ETA: i deliver at 36 weeks 3 days.

I was having contraction at 31 weeks and apparently went into preterm labor. I didnt feel anything the mind u. It was the start of a UTI that set it off since my kidneys were so compressed.
I was put on bed rest from that point on and delivered the girls at 36 weeks because i developed pre-eclampsia.

Re: How long were you able to work full-time?

My dr. told me in the beginning that he would pull me out of work at 24 weeks. Sure enough, three days before my last day of work I was put on bedrest. I worked 42 hours a week in retail which meant on my feet all.day.long.

I have a pretty physical job. On my feet all day long, on and off the floor with kids, bending, squatting, running, jumping etc

I worked full time until about 28 weeks (with a short bedrest term when I got my cerclage at about 14 weeks). Then I worked 3 days a week until about 31 weeks. I wanted to continue but my swelling was so bad my dr made me stop. I delivered at 33w6 days via emergency c section due to pre eclampsia

Re: How long were you able to work full-time?

I had a short cervix discovered at 16 weeks and started modified bed rest then - could go to work as long as I was sitting all day, had to be laying down or have my feet up when I was home the rest of the time.

That didn't help, cervix got shorter. Had a cerclage at 17 weeks.

Modified bed rest continued a couple of weeks until my cervix started shortening again. Tried stricter version of modified bed rest.

Then the preterm labor stuff started and I was in the hospital for a few days at 25 weeks to stop contractions.

Wad released on complete strict bed rest from then until I delivered at 31w6d after my water broke.

Re: How long were you able to work full-time?

When I was pregnant with the girls I was a SAHM to my DS (2.5).

I was never put on bedrest with my twin pregnancy (with DS I was put on bedrest at 31 weeks until the day I delivered). I never had a shortening cervix, or preterm contractions.

I wound up delivering via c-section at 37w2d because Baby A showed no growth on a sono. But both were healthy and perfect.

Everyone is different, no way to possibly predict what kind of a pregnancy you will have. Twin pregnancies are typically so much higher risk and "difficult" but for me it was a walk in the park compared to my pregnancy with DS.

20 weeks but I had issues starting it was June and I hated commuting to the city, so all that combined my doc and I decided it was best that I stop. Good thing too, because I ended up going into labor at 31 weeks. I wonder if I didn't rest all that time would I have even been able to hold out that long.

I also knew at that point I was probably not going back.

How ironic that literally the DAY after I wrote this I was put in the hospital after having contractions, got a cerclage the day after that and now I'm on bedrest in the hospital!

I am STILL hoping to go back to work after Christmas break though!

Re: How long were you able to work full-time?

I have an office job. I worked up through my 33 week. Had them at 36 weeks. I literally had issues walking since Twin A's head was so low down there. I think I made my boss and co-workers nervous to be around me.
