disappointed with re visit today
Just wanted to vent and to get your opinion.
Went to my re today, it was for a f/u to my HSG. He said all is normal-which I am thankful for.
So all my tests are realitvely normal,
except for starting synthriod.
So he told me he didn't want to see my back until I complete 2 cycles, due to the increased risk of getting pg after hsg.
I am upset, I just want to move on. It feels like he is dragging his feet now.
He said next step is clomid, then onto IUI's.
Anyone have this experience?

I know for me when I started synthroid it regulated my menstrual cycles. I used to be a 35-38 cycle girl and now, I am anywhere from 24-28 cycles.
I am praying that we can get pg naturally now.

Why doesnt he want you to get PG for two cycles? Till the synthroid starts working??

He wants to see over the next 2 months if I get pg on my own.
Then he will then have me start clomid. and move on from there.
He just wants to delay me 2 more mos because of the hsg!

HSG makes sense only b/c if your tubes are damaged than you may need to repair them and move onto IVF. If you have damaged tubes, IUI's won't work for you. Good Luck!

Sometimes the HSG dye "clears" the tubes when it travels through them. Some people have been known to conceive on their own shortly after doing the HSG test, that might be a possible reason for your RE's delay.

My doc told me to wait after a hsg, it was 2 months as well, or maybe three. Well not two months later I was pregnant. The dye can sometimes clear the tubes and you can concieve on your own. Believe me, all the other stuff is so expensive, you may just want to wait the 2 months. Plan a nice get away for you an Dh around the ovulation time and relax and get pregnant.
