Just finished HG trilogy & want to talk about it *spoilers*
I LOVED the series and love how strong a character Katniss is...BUT I was really hoping for a little more between her & Peeta in book 3! I feel there was such an intensity between them and I LOVE Peeta  And I got to the end really wanting more of him! I may go reread the 1st one! Lol.

I am totally with you. I was happy they ended up together, but the end kind of just fell flat for me.

I also would've loved to see her have a bigger role in the new gov't. I mean, I didn't expect them to make her president or something, but I feel like she deserved more than what she got. If I were Katniss, I never would've wanted to set foot in that District ever again.
Oh, did they say they are definitely doing all 3 movies?

Oh, I agree about the role in govt! But I like the idea of them rebuilding 12 since it was their home.
I was just assuming about all 3 movies...I hope they do! Im sure the 1st one will do well and they will want to make the entire trilogy!

I would have liked to hear more about the country under the new president and maybe give Katniss and Peeta some kind of role rewriting the law to ensure that something like the Hunger Games would never happen again. And maybe a little more about Haymitch too!

I like the idea of hearing more about life after the Hunger Games! Maybe they'll write more books!

Not gonna lie, I screamed out "Yes!" when she took out Coin.
I don't think Katniss could have dealt with being involved in the government. When she realized how Coin played her with Prim, she realized that there is no truly good guy and everyone has a motive and a game to play. After being used so often, by so many, I didn't expect her to go anywhere near it.

I hear you...although that is really the only world she knows. It's not like she is going to live in 13 - she can't deal with being underground. And to go to another district, I don't think she'd be given peace. You can forget the Capitol.
I think she is in such a bad place psychologically that she needs the familiarality (I spelled that so bad my spell check isn't even sure of what it is - or I made up a word - not sure) of home in order to not lose it totally.

That is true, pretty much everyone in or associated with the govt used her.
I still really wish we would have gotten at least 1 passionate kiss between Katniss & Peeta, not televised, where we know for sure that she really loves him and that he wasn't going to try to kill her!
I'm actually slightly annoyed that Peeta spent most of book 3 slightly deranged! I understand that it was kinda pivotal to the plot, but I missed the smooth talking, morally sound Peeta!

That is a great point about how she was betrayed by the gov't left, right, and center. I never thought of it that way.

Yeah the Peeta storyline did get a bit annoying. I wanted her to end up with him from the very beginning too....she was too much like Gale. I feel Peeta is a good compliment to her personality.

I agree. Gale was very similar to Katniss and I felt he was more like a brother than boyfriend. I wasn't sure how I felt about Peeta either until she found him and nursed him back to health. Then I really wanted them to stay together!

Just finished the last book - I absolutely loved this trilogy!! I can't wait for the movie to come out.
I am going to probably start her underland chronicles series.

Omg, I just finished the trilogy tonight. I read all three books in less than a week. I was crying my eyes out reading those last twenty pages or so. All out sobbing. When she lost her sister, I nearly had to stop reading it. I didn't like that the third book was so detailed in terms of taking over the Capitol, but then the end just was a quick tie up of everything. That was disappointing to me.

ITA! It wrapped up too fast. But I guess I loved it so much I wanted more! I literally had dreams about the trilogy for 2 weeks after finishing them! Some of then very bizarre!
I was thinking about it, and I guess it's ironic that Katniss volunteered to go to the Hunger Games to protect Prim...and that's what started the entire revolution, and the revolution resulted in Prims death anyway!
