isnt he starting high schools that consist of classrooms of computers and no teachers? i thought i read an article about that a few weeks ago. kids in rockaway were complaining because they didnt have an english teacher, just subs or aides who monitored their online learning.

I laugh because isn't this where he also said we were the bottom 20% from the worst colleges? I don't think Harvard grads are coming in with a starting salary less than what they paid a year for college.

I'm insulted on so many levels...why are we the only sources of childrens' successes and failures? What about the other 18 hours a day? I worked so hard to get into a profession I love and now question daily because of the lack of support and resources everyday. With a larger class, it's difficult to even have a conversation with each child, never mind differentiating and working one on one to the extent that is expected...and I am sad for our children due to "leadership" like this...

I also love how he's said he doubled our salary...if that's true, wheres the rest of it? I know I didn't squander it in poor investments! Lol

He has made it his mission to insult and degrade this profession at every turn. He is nothing but an egocentric billionaire who has no idea about the daily lives and hardships the people who live in NYC face. Look at him at Rockefeller surrounded by CEO's......only people he can relate to.

At a recent meeting, we were told that the higher ups look at student absents and see it as a teacher's failure. We aren't motivating enough. So, those students I had last year with 40 absents and 60 lates, it is my fault. Even after phone calls home with no response. Even after I told parents to walk THEIR kids to the bus. The direction and outlook that the people in charge have are crazy. I am tired and sick of the lack of support and respect. I guess that have to blame somebody. The only thing they can control are the teachers, because if they blame parents then it is their jobs on the line.

I'd like to know what type of school he sent his own kids to. I'm sure it was some private or boarding school with very few students in each classroom and plenty of resources for each kid. If his idea was so great then he should have listened to his own advice and sent his kids to a school with overcrowded classrooms...moron
