Does anyone make pillows?
My mom got me into this.....we dont use the top sheets on our bed so I have been making pillows out of them. I was using stitch witchery for a while but in my experience it hasnt been the best so since I dont have a sewing machine I have been literally sewing the perimeter of the pillow and stuffing it with batting.
Anyone else do this? Any tips? I will post pics one day when I am finished with all of the fabric.

I have in the past -mostly using a machine though - so easy. Except now I want to make covers for two pillows I bought and put a zipper on them, but i haven't quite got that figured out yet.
The only tip I have is maybe get an inexpensive machine. It makes it go so much quicker!

Oh yeah Id love a machine - maybe one day. I want one where it would be able to have its own table you know what I mean? If I have to take it out and put it away I wont ever use it.

I bought a hundred dollar one from Wal-Mart and I have to say that althgough I have to take it out and put it away, I'm always thinking of new projects to do. I've had it two month, not even, and I'm always looking for something to fix or make.
I thought the same thing but I have to say that I use it more than I expected.

Re: Does anyone make pillows?
I have a machine and have made pillows. Another way to make slipcovers for pillows, say like your couch pillows or whatever, is to make a flap with two large buttons. You can make it decorative and put the buttons on the outside or make it non-decorative and put them on the back side of the pillow.
I also have to say that having a machine is a GODSEND! It would have taken forever to do some of the projects that I've made in minutes. Even if you don't have a table for it yet and have to put away it will still save you tons of time. Sears has some good inexpensive ones.

Ive been making throw pillows like a madwoman. 3 for my daughter's bed - 2 of them were 2 beautiful placemats sewn together and stuffed. I just made my older son a tooth fairy pillow...I cant stop.
