During a 5K do you stop at the water stops?
I don't. Not even for a 10K (unless it's REALLY hot). I just hydrate really well the day before and drink a little about an hour before.
I just ran a 5K with a friend and lost her in the crowd because I buzzed past the water stop and she did not. I know she was well hydrated before the run so I was a little
 at stopping for H2O at the 1 mile mark.

During a 5K, 99% of the time I do not take water. I ran a 15K a few weeks ago and did not take water. I feel like it messes with my rhythm and the water usually messes with my stomach. I try to hydrate well before the race. The only exception occurs on days when it is like 85+ degrees.

No, I make sure to hydrate well in the days before any race so anything under a 10K, I won't stop.

For long races, yes, but for a 5K, only if it's really hot or I'm especially thirsty.

if its really hot I take water but try to keep moving. In half marathons and fulls then I stop, walk, drink, toss and go!
