Re: Need help
From a website.... Source
Got a constipated cat or dog? Try this quick fix that Jill from Smithton, Pa. sent in; "For a constipated dog, mix 2 to 4 tablespoons of mineral oil into their dog food. For a cat, mix 1 to 2 tablespoons into their cat food. Do this for two days. This will do the trick!" Thanks Jill! I would like to add that a reader reminded me that mineral oil should not be given to a pet on a long term basis. Remember, just use this remedy as a quick fix once or twice a year to be safe. Warning sent in by Debby: "I have done cat and kitten rescue for 5 years. I have learned that if the oil is ingested into the lungs, it will be there for life and will cause problems. This can happen very easily in very young hand fed kittens, pups and all mammals. Better to find an alternative or carefully mix the tiniest bit of oil possible into wet food. I put a quarter of a pea size bit on my finger and rub it under the top gums."
