Found dog
Hi all - my friend found a dog on the LIE service road, btw. exits 57 and 58. She put up flyers all in that area, and is holding him until tomorrow. After that, she is bringing him to the Islip Shelter. If the owner doesn't claim him, he will be up for adoption. She thinks he is around a year old. Please FM me if you have any info on this dog. Can she bring him to Little Shelter or Save a pet in Port Jefferson?? I only ask because I think Islip is a kill shelter.

She knows someone who works in Islip. She will pay an adoption fee, and then they will move the dog to another shelter if he is there too long, I think. She wanted to keep him in the neighborhood he was found in first. He will definately not be put to sleep. She said he is a great dog - very friendly, house broken, and knows "sit".  She already has 2 dogs, or would consider keeping him herself. Hopefully he is lost, and not abandoned.

That is good that she knows someone there & will not let the dog be put to sleep.
I do not have any info, but I hope he finds a good home, even if it is a new one
